Inventor Assembly import in another Assembly

Hi there,

I have been trying to create one assembly that has multiple options to select (a container's list size)

The assembly itself works great - it supresses the ones that I don't want when I click the checkbox.

The issue comes when I insert it inot another assembly and try to select one type when I import the same assembly in the new assembly - it changes all of the imported. I know that there is an option to fix that, I could not find anything on youtube or online for the past couple of hours, so I thought some of might have faced that issue before?

Thanks in advance (see the snapshot below)

If you need a unique copy of the assembly you need to file save as. This will allow you to do assembly level edits. If you want to affect the parts at the part level you need to save as of the part files as well. You have another option of model states for 2022 or newer. Maybe you are allready using that?

I am using Inventor 2023. I will look into model states.

However, I did not understand the "Save as" part. So, basically, my assembly with the iLogic Form needs to be saved several times (the number of container types)?

If you need a unique file to save downstream work then the file needs to be saved separately. Is the purpose of using the form in the assembly to select just one container? What will the next work operation be, can you give more context?

For model states you can create 4 states and suppress the container in each one and instead of the form now you can use the keys to select each container type.
