iLogic - Using model browser in rule editor causes 'Unhandled exception' error

Hello All,

I hope someone here can help with a rather worrying error message I received whilst writing an iLogic rule. I attempted to write a rule in an assembly comprising three parts. I had already successfully written two rules. The assembly is based on a skeletal model and is a very simple assembly comprising very simple parts. This is basically an exercise to familiarise myself with certain iLogic functions. When I attempted to expand a part within the assembly using the model browser in the rule editor, I received an error message stating "Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application...". If I click 'continue' I can return to the rule editor but the '+' next to the part I want to expand has disappeared.

However, if I write the rule by hand (because I have no choice) then the rule functions exactly as it should. I investigated this problem with three different versions of Inventor (2012, 2015 & 2016) and using two different PCs but the result was the same. After googling the problem I thought it might have something to do with the Windows .net framework so I updated it but this hasn't helped.

Any Ideas?

Thanks,

Chris

Could you attach the problem assembly (in a low version of Inventor - 2012 if you have it and it's convenient) to the forums, so we can see if we can replicate the problem.

I've not encountered anything like this.
