How Can I Create Drawing Via iLogic & a Form?

Hello Everyone,

I'm looking to automate the drawing creation a little bit.  In my head, I am envisioning a form that pops up when the drawing template opens and guides you through the following;

- Adding a Presentation view, Isometric view and Bill of Material on Sheet 1

- Creating a Front, Top and Left view on Sheet 2.

- Updating the Description, Title, Rev, Drawing Date in iProperties

- Updating the Rev Table

I have figured out updating iProperties pretty quick but, everything else is beyond my abilities.  We are currently using Inventor 2016 but, we are expecting to be upgraded to Inventor 2019 by the end of the year. Is there any way to do the rest of what I am looking for in either releases?

Thanks for reading.

Paul

Welcome to the Autodesk User's Community..

Programming questions need to be asked in the Inventor Customization Forum https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-customization/bd-p/120 for best results.  I will have the moderator relocate it there to best suit your needs.

Hi Paul,

Yes, this is all possible.  I believe all of this is explained in the Programming / API Help in Inventor.

Thank you for your reply.  I spent some time looking through the API helper and I couldn't find what I am looking for.

Could you direct me to where I can find how to do any of the above?
