Frame Generator 2008 Standards Update

I have frame based on a skeleton with all members using Steel Work Sections from BS Standards. The Edit Frame feature doesn't allow you to switch standards which is a pain.

I am planning on fixing this problem but if Autodesk let you swap Standards in 2008 then I could be wasting my time. They way I though to do this would be to delete the current sketch profile (and parameters) paste in the ones from the new standard if this is possible, if not I will have to have a big excel file with all the sketch co-ordinates for each profile in which would be a task.

Your advise is well received

If I can put the sketch into the frame member as a derived part from the Frame Generator templates (C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 11\Frame Generator\SHARED\Profilesystems\Bs\Templates) I then have to orientate it to the right direction. Refrence the new profile and redefine the extrusion this is not impossible but not very efficient either. Message was edited by: sandhup

I have now looked at Inventor 2008 and the Frame Generator feature has been improved a lot. It seems to make the member a Frame specific part.

Could some one fill me in on how this is different to old.

I also have looked at the Database files, the old one meant you were stuck to single type when modifying.

Looking at the new Database it much bigger and a lot harder to follow, has anyone been able to decipher it?
