Copy Design

It should be a simply question but I'm not an expert in Inventor API so I need your help.

I have an assembly. It is composed by one IAM containing a number of parts with linked Excel spreadsheet and I need to simulate the Copy Design command via the Inventor API.

My command should:

1 ask the name of the new project

2 save files into a new directory (like Copy Design) but automatically without asking the new name of each file

3 copy the excel and set the name of variables in excel

4 open each part/iam and change the referenced excel in each new file.

Could someone give the right start for points 2 and 4? or where do I find some helpful info?

Hi,

I may still at the initial stage of understanding on your question, but I'd like to recommend this nice tool. It can copy design  Inventor IAM/IDW/DWG file along with any files it references (including substitute parts and OLE references). And it provides source code.
