Copy Design involving iLogic

Good Afternoon,

I have created a problem that I hope a member of the inventor ilogic team can help me to resolve.

I created a parametric model that involves ilogic code to suppress/unsuppress fabricated sub-assemblies.  This works fine for the master template.  As soon as I copy design the template the code fails because it is looking for the old/master template name.  Is there a way to maintain the ilogic code after copy design?

Thank you,

Edward

Hi Edward,

when I use code in that way I usually rename components in the browser, in that way they will preserve their name

And to add to @admaiora  solution. The term for changing the browser node/occurrence node name  is stabilization or normalization.  It takes a lot of head scratching especially when you start copying. I don’t think the workflow is well documented from inventor.

Thanks admaiora. It's such a simple solution that one could be forgiven for thinking it is too simple. I tried it and it works perfectly.

Hi Alan. Thank you for the video link. It makes sense when you think about it but like you say it is not well documented in Inventor. I'll be sure to normalize all future ilogic assemblies. Regards, Edward
