Changing excel spreadsheet parameters to update model in "real time"

Good Morning,

I am currently working on several robot designs and was asked if we could "link" the inventor model to a set of "joysticks" (which controls position of a manufactured scale prototype).

We would like to drive the Inventor model simultaneously in "real time" (several times per second) by updating an excel spreadsheet which contains position parameters for the 3D model.

I am not sure if this can be done, so before I spend a lot of time reading the API documentation, I thought I would see if anyone has done anything like this before.

Thank you very much, I will try the script this morning. To more clearly explain what we are trying to do;

What we have is a joystick which feeds data to an excel spreadsheet.

When you move the joystick, it changes (indexes) the values in the excel spreadsheet.

The values in the spreadsheet change depending on how far you push the stick and in which direction.

We just want the inventor model (projected on to a screen) to move the same as the small scale model (so all of the students can see).

I am creating a simple model to test the script now.
