Automatic holes position and dimensions

Hello, everyone

while searching online I found a code from Jelte de Jong to automatically place centerlines and cotation to holes. For some reason the code does not work to me at least.

What i'm searching is something that:

-Places the outermost dimensions of the drawing

-Places centermarks in the holes and when the piece is symetrical (not sure if last thing is even possible)

-Places cotaton for the holes in the drawing (position + diameter) (or radius if there is not a complete hole?)

can it be done?
Thankyou all

I expect that you are referring to this post:

Can you tell us what is not working for you (or can you attach a part that does not work for you)?

In my case, it generates the outermost dimensions. (you need to enable that in the rule). It generates center marks (but does not place centres for symmetrical parts which would be very difficult I expect). Also, place and diameter dimensions of holes are generated.

Hello @JelteDeJong that's the post, yes.

The only thing that works to me is the outermost dimensions.

It occurred to me by checking at the parts that maybe the code does not see negative extrusions as "holes", but I tried with parts that had propers holes in them, and it wasn't working either.

After fidgeting a while I was just lost, no clue on why this was not working.

Buuuuut then I saw your picture and realized that it has used the "normal" template, so I tried. And the miracle happened, the code you wrote, suddently worked!
We use a personalized template that I cannot send out, but Im guessing that there is something in the "normal" blueprint your code is searching for, that our custom template doesn't have. (Norm, font, layer or whatever I don't know how to confirm my suspicion)

Hi @dypro

Have your worked down through the sub routines to see do all the sub routines get triggered firstly? Have you worked out what is not working, which sub routine etc? Trial and error really is your friend here. I would suggest go back to the drawing that worked and try to make it fail.
