Hi i am using inventor 2021. while i was doing a search trying to compare inventor vs Advanced Steel, i came across ASI-Profile add-in for inventor.. I have asked on the general forum but have had no answers as of yet, maybe no one has any answers in my case. What i want to know is anyone using this add-in? how do you find it, does it improve your modeling in frame generator? And how do you go about getting the add-in, i have tried several times to contact through their website with no response yet.. does the company really exist?

I've never heard of it before, and I don't see it available through the Autodesk App Store.  And, since no one is responding from their website, I would be very cautious about downloading or using it.  If it's not available either from Autodesk directly, or through the Autodesk App Store, and you're not familiar with the company selling/offering it, I wouldn't use it.

Hi neonikau,
the difference is in the main application, the Advance Steel is AutoCAD based and the ASi profiles are used with Inventor. Besides the frame generator it is the only steel construction application for Inventor and contains more steel construction typical elements, which makes the work much faster. For example, plate connections can be inserted with screw connections and the profiles are shortened accordingly. Then there are cross bracings, flag plates, ribs, stairs and railings, etc.. In addition to the output of BOM and saw lists, there is also the option of outputting data to numeric control (DSTV interface) and to BIM (IFC interface). The old website is unfortunately no longer available, but you will find information about the product at asi-profile.de. There is a trial version, single-user, multi-user and network licences available for purchase and subscription. The current and five previous versions of Inventor are supported. There is also a new product MuM steelwork (Inventor-OEM). Both software is offered in German and English and is used in the countries: Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, England/UK, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Mexico, New Zeeland, Netherland, Norway, Austria, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, Slovakia, South Africa, U.S.A.
