This is my first post. My company has a spec standard for creating mortise and tenon joints for panel joints. I'd like to create something that will auto insert the joint thru a menu system that ask a few questions and create the mortise or tenon joint based on the answers to the questions. First, I don't know what that would be created in (iPart? VBA?) or how to go about starting something like that.
My vision would be for the basic panel shape to be made in Inventor. Once all edges are identified, the script would walk the user thru a series of questions like: Mortise or Tenon joint; select edges; select spacing; select edge offset to begin. Once those are inputted, the program would complete the creation of the mortise or tenon joints to the panel by cutting material away to give the edges desired. Basic items like radius would be standard inputs as well as mortise depth would be dependent on panel thickness.
How would something like this be created or where would I begin looking within Inventor to do something like this.
