Prompt "Read only" for single ipt. open in multiple instances.

My company is currently making the transition to a 3-D environment by use of Inventor 2015. Coming from 2-D cad, we are accustomed to

working/updating files simultaniously. With that being said, Autocad prompts the user that the current file is in use and asks if you would like to view the file as read only.

Aside from using Vault, is there any other option/event trigger that can notify other users that the current ipt or assembly is open or being edited in another instance?

We have created a single project file with one ipt within. Two people are able to to make any changes and the final design is saved by who ever

saves last. This is a major concern if multiple updates need to be applied to a single part file.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I believe Vault is probably the best solution here.  However, I would suggest that you re-post your question in the Inventor General Discussion forum.  This is a general Inventor usage question rather than a programming specific question and a lot more people that use Inventor on a daily basis are likely to see it there.
