Hi,
I'm looking for a way to laser-mark onto a curved surface, without using a 4th axis.
Today, I manually split a DXF drawing up into sections, and scale & move these depending on how far off the centerline they are, which is quite time consuming.
The further from center-line, the more I need to 'squish' the sketch elements together so that once they are marked, they are the correct size.
An alternative method, would be to create a sketch, emboss it onto a cylinder, and then project it back onto a different sketch, and then chop it up into smaller sections to allow for Z height corrections.
Ideally though, i'd like to do this using iLogic, but I can't seem to figure out the best way to do this.
Is there any functionality that could do this already that I'm missing?
am I better off manipulating the elements directly, or embossing first & then re-projecting?
Thanks!
