Hello.

I've written some add-ins for Inventor. They usually work as intended. But occasionally (maybe in 1 of 50 installations) one of the add-ins doesn't show on that computers add-ins list in Inventor. Uninstall and reinstall doesn't help. Does anyone have an ide what the issue might be? Or even better how to fix it?

Hi petter,

Is the Inventor version same as the others?

Is .net Framework which version is required by add-in installed?

Hi,

Does the certain *.addin file exist in the certain directory?

Try copy the *.addin file from the machine which add-in works to the machine which has issue.

I found that Inventor see only the *.addin file to decide adding to the list of the AddIn Manager.

Even if *.dll doesn't exist, the name of add-in is listed in AddIn Manager.

Hello Hideo.

Thank you for your replies. I don’t produce an .addin file. I just make a dll file and register that with RegAsm.exe.

I have started to create add-ins in the last few years, so my knowledge is limited to registry free add-ins.

Sorry for not helping you, but I think the cause is around there.

I needed to update to a newer RegAsm.exe. Then it worked again.
