Lost Projects links.

Every time I take my computer home and bring it back to work I lose the links to the Project files on our network.  Is there an automatic way that inventor will see all the projects I have stored on the network?  Right now I have to browse projects and click on every project I have ever saved just to restore the links in the Projects window.

I normally work off of network files so I don't have to eat up tons of space on my laptop by saving them local.

Any Ideas?

When you open the Projects dialog, Inventor checks to make sure all of your projects are available. If any of them aren't, it brings up this dialog to ask if you want to remove them from your list:

It's very unclear from the dialog, but clicking "Ok" removes the lost projects from your list, while "Cancel" keeps them. They really should improve the clarity of this box and its buttons.

Anyway, my guess is you get this dialog while you're at home and hit "Ok", thereby removing all of your work projects from the list. If that's the case, just hit "Cancel" from now on and you should be good to go.

Or it's possible you may have accidentally set it to default to "Ok" rather than prompting you. To check this go to "File-->Options-->Prompts tab and find the entry that starts with "The projects could not be found on disk" and make sure it's set to prompt "Always", or the response is set to "Cancel".

Thanks for the clarification.  Yes they do need to fix that dialog box by saying "clicking Cancel will keep the project links"  When docking my laptop and booting it up, if the network drives are not fully loaded yet this error will pop up on you.  Just click cancel and then make sure you can access all the drives needed for your program Projects to load.  Load Inventor and all your projects should show up again.

thanks again for the help
