Inventor crashes when adding/removing/renaming files in External Rule Directory

I've been having this problem for quite a while and thought I'd post to see if it's just me.

Whenever I add, remove, or rename an iLogic file in one of the External Rule Directories that Inventor is watching, Inventor immediately crashes. This doesn't happen every time, but it happens most of the time.

I'm using Inventor 2017.4.4, and I've experienced this with 2018 as well.

Is Autodesk aware of this? Is there a fix or workaround to prevent Inventor from crashing?

yes, I have experienced the same.

I have 2019 installed also, just tested all three (all on my system) and now they work oke.

so maybe the installation of 2019 changed some things
