ilogic will not save my document!

I am essentially trying to create my own copy design tool. This is a much simplified method of how it works

- open blank assembly (A)

- import required template assemblies (B & C)

- for each occurence in A, open, do a save as new part number

- do the same for its drawing and replace its referances

- repeat for all sub occurences.

-SAVE A here (not working!)

Most of this is working fine. When i open Assembly B, all its children have been saved and replaced as expected. (When i close it, inventor does not prompt me to save.) If i close all my assemblies down (no save prompt), and re-open assembly B all the childern in assembly B have gone back to the Template files. I.e. assembly B is not saving.

I am using both

docA.save  and docA.save2(True)

I am disabling the vault addin before i run my rule, and re-enabling it at the end of the rule to get rid of those prompts to check out the template files. Is this the cause of the problem?

Just to stir things up; Open assembly template, save as new document first thing, then perform changes, then save again.  See if that helps any, it may point to the actual issue.

I've found a work around/bodge!

I just need to tell inventor that Assembly A is dirty before i save.

docA.Dirty = True
