Ilogic pdf export scale and paper size options....

I am using the code as shown on this website to export pdf:

This issue I am having is that it does not show any way to control the scaling (best fit vs model 1:1) option or paper size option.

I am needing to know what code to add to access and control these features in ilogic. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Ion01,
there aren't options for changing format and scale while you are publishing your drawing.

You have to use an external virtual printer for solve your issue, for example PDFcreator.

Or you can change size and scale of your drawing before exporting it.

probably you could give it a try to change the sheet/drawing views temporarily, and export to PDF. e.g. if you want to have a specific size, you can modify Sheet.Size, export PDF and change the size back. Hope it could help.

I've had issues with this too,

I need our drawings to be printed to scale at all times. The pdf addin doesn't allow for this. Of course I can install cutepdf or whatever and print to that, but the issue there is that it prompts the user with a save dialgoue box. I want to bypass this dialogue box and save with the filename revision and description to pdf with no user input.

pdf addin seems to allow this, but it is not printed to true scale; but not anything else I have been able to acheive.

I ended up getting as far as homing in on the PrintToFile option and seemed to have relative success with what I wanted, but could not open the pdf as it was corrupt. If anyone has had any success with this It would be great to know what you did to fix it 🙂

Something is truly broken  with Inventor's export to PDF module.

Paper sizes never some out right, the extents of the title block does not match...what you think you should get.

Can't believe this is still broken almost five years later.

I have never experienced this issue, it has always exported @ 1:1

If I print the exported PDF to paper it also scales correctly, as long as you don't use the print to fit option.

I'm expecting the PDF to be printed with the size border as the sheet being printed to the printer.  I'm expecting the PDF file to match the Inventor drawing...and it does not. 😞

I'm printing 1/2 size from an ANSI "D" (34x22) sheet onto an 11x17 sheet.  

When I print directly to the printer the distance from the edge of the sheet to the edge of the border matches the definition of the border, scaled down by 50%.

When we export the sheet to a PDF file the distance between the edge of the sheet and the border does not match the dimension of the border on the Inventor drawing.  The border is noticeably smaller on the export PDF than the printed sheet.

That said, the same problem occurs when print to a PDF file using the PDF-Exchange print driver.

Another problem with the PDF export module is the lack of consistency of the export file.  See the attached image for a screen snippet taken from a PDF File created by Inventor's PDF export module.

The dimension line in the PDF exported file is not the same weight as the dimension line below, and does NOT match the actual Inventor drawing file.  Something is not quite right with the PDF export module.

Is there any reason why you don't print your PDF @ 1:1 (ANSI "D" (34x22)

This could also fix the dimension line weights, as I never see the issues that you are experiencing.

TBH I have never looked at the border to sheet edge before, I have a scale bar on my drawings, if it does not match to a scale ruler, then there is something wrong.

If you need to print a hard copy, then print the PDF @ 50% scale.

We are exporting the PDF @ 1:1 to the ANSI D (34x22) sheet. 

So...it's a new day, and after reviewing how we are printing the resultant PDF, it seems that the scaling issue was on my end and how I was printing the file from our non-standard PDF viewer (PDF-XCHANGE).  Once I had the settings correct in the PDF viewer program the sheet size is correct. 

That said, the line weight disparity issue is not on my end.  The resultant PDF from the Inventor export has several line weight artifacts which do not appear when creating the PDF via a print driver.
