iLogic or iPart

I am trying to determine the best path for my situation. In the included example I have created an iLogic form for some electrical wiring duct. The intention was to locate this file within our Vault library and insert it into our assemblies using the place command. I had hoped to launch the form upon placement and then have the object update per the inputs. Once the selection was finalized I had hoped I could save the newly created file as it part number (as shown in the image below) back to the library path. I cannot seem to find where this has been done, though perhaps I am not looking in the correct places.

I tried something similar with an iPart, but the results weren't great. I could not figure out a way to include the OAL in the saved out part number and the interface was not nearly as nice or complete. Can someone point me towards some similar examples, or just tell me that what I want can't be accomplished. I could just open the .ipt file, use the form and perform a saveas but I would like a more elegant approach if possible.

Hello,

you could make an iLogic part, and put it in the content center, and use that to generate the parts you need.

you can than also setup the correct name.

If this answers your question then please select "Accept as Solution"
Kudo's are also appreciated Smiley Wink

Succes on your project, and have a nice day
