How can i change my custom profile part with a length parameter as an unit quatity in bill of materials

i am building a skeleton model with custom profiles and can control my model with length and height etc.
but when i make a bill of materials i just says unit quantity each and quantity 1.
if i make a content center profile the unit quantity has a length and the quantity is the same is it possible to use the same principle for my custom parts so i can connect the output to our ERP system.

i have a sample BOM in dutch where i have put in some profile parts with lengths and they have custom columns that are controlled by the parameter in i-logic but that doesn't work because the length of the profile is in different columns i would love to hear a solution so my custom profile works the same as a content center one.

The settings for how the "Unit Quantity", "Base Quantity", and "Base Unit" are set-up are found within the 'Document Settings' of each document included within the BOM.  Go to Tools tab > Options panel > Document Settings, then to the Bill of Materials tab of that dialog.  Here you change the Base Unit, from Each to something else, like a Length measurement unit.

Yes, you need to click on the "Document Settings" button to launch its dialog box, then you will need to choose the "Bill of Materials" tab within.  Then you should be able to modify those settings.

So, you're saying that the document settings button is greyed-out, and therefore unavailable?

I'm not sure why it would be.

When you say you are building a 'skeleton model', do you mean you are working with a multi-body part file, which you intend to generate parts and assembly documents from it?  Or are you starting with a template assembly file, that contains template part files, and you're using some sort of configuration set-up to generate new assembly & parts from that?  I'm not sure I fully understand the scenario.

i have worked it out with the document settings

i have made a assembly with skeleton reference this is my first model with i-logic.

we looked at a multi-body part but the options on that are limited.

with this assembly we are trying to make drawings and parts for production and for calculation purposes.

we are using an ERP system with Cad-coupling so the bill of materials is the part the ERP program uses.

but if i look at my bill of materials it just says QTY 1 or each.

where i would like it to say stocknumber 399.249345 and the length of the profile so that the ERP program can pick up how much of the profile it needs
