Having trouble with setting custom parameters

 I have set up my parameters the problem is when I go to dimension a line and a sketch and I click my list of parameters from the dimension drop-down tree it is not in the tree if I go back and manually put the dimension in and then go back to my parameters tab it will show up in model parameters but not in the user parameters you will have a d 1 or something like that and then I have to go in and input the name of the parameter that I want to use instead of being able to just type the name of the parameter for length or width or height and it automatically dimension it to my previous values

Why are all your Parameters "Text" Parameters?  They Should be numeric:
