Get Dimensions for ipart with VB

I have been trying to use VB on an ipart in an idw file in Inventor 2010 to automate dimensioning a simple part.  The code has not worked and when i tried to perform the task manually in inventor the retrieve dimesion button only seemed to work on parts and not iparts. Is this the case.

As an alternative method to achieve my goal I am also interested in using the center dimension command in VB on the ipart.  This does not work as i expect it to.  When i debug the program the command moves the dimension but it does not center it.  i cannot determine how it is positioning the dimension.  it seems as though a lot of the functionality available for standard parts does not carry over to iparts.

Unfortunately to retrieve dimensions from iPart is still not supported.

About the center dimension command, can you supply a snippet of code and a test data, that we can look into the issue.
