General Tools in IV2013

Hi to all,

just instaled Inventor Suit 2013,

after installation I run UserTools.msi

from GeneralTools/Bin folder registerd GeneralTolls.dll.

AddIns GeneralTools is loaded

In Add-In tab is not GeneralTool commands (spell, helix).

How to force Inventor to to show this tool

Please Help

Hello Rocky,

I have tried on the other machine and I am getting the same error. Both of the machines have the same versions of frameworks and the same operating system installed. Windows 8.

Hi Danijel,

I configured a Windows 8.1 machine with Inventor 2016, and just ran the Install.bat then the addin works well, the machine has not any VS installed yet. Is your current user the administrator user? Can you copy the folder C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Inventor 2016\SDK\UserTools\DerivedPart_SP\ to a different folder like D:\Temp\ and run the Install.bat to see if it works?

I tried with copying to another path and running install.bat, also with running through the cmd (run as administrator) on the new path and still the same error. I have installed Windows 8, not 8.1. Thank you very much for the any help that you provided. I will move on Windows 10 soon, so I hope it will works.

I just want to inform you that I have moved to Windows 10 x64 and followed again by your steps I have registered UserTools and now it works fine.

Thank you very much on your engagement to help me to solve a problem. All your instructions were correct but I had a problem with my earlier operating system.
