I’m giving you the back story of this in case anyone has an idea of a better way to do this and then I’m giving you my problem.
Back story…
I store the “Cable&HarnessDefaultLibrary.iwl” file on a shared network location (\\Server\Standards\Inventor %RELEASE%\Design Data\Cables & Harness\en-US) so we’re all working from the same Cable & Harness Library. Whenever I install a new version of Inventor, I create a new folder at the shared network location to put all our shared libraries and tables in. For instance, \\Server\Standards\Inventor 2017..., \\Server\Standards\Inventor 2018..., \\Server\Standards\Inventor 2019..., etc. I put all the default Inventor files in those directories and then overwrite some of the default tables and library files with the legacy files we’ve developed from previous versions. Anyway, after installing 2019, I forgot to copy over the “Cable&HarnessDefaultLibrary.iwl” file. We’ve added wires to the 2019 “Cable&HarnessDefaultLibrary.iwl” file over the past year. I opened up an old legacy assembly with a wire harness and it can’t find wires that existed in the 2018 “Cable&HarnessDefaultLibrary.iwl” file but not in the 2019 “Cable&HarnessDefaultLibrary.iwl” file. So now I have 2 versions of the “Cable&HarnessDefaultLibrary.iwl” file with different wires that need to merge into 1 library file. So, my plan is to simply export from one library and to import into the other to make that the new 2019 default.
Problem…
I go into Cable and Harness Library, click on Export Library Wires, and specify the paths and file names for the Data File (.csv) and the Configuration File (.cfg). When I click “OK’, I get an error “Missing, locked, or empty configuration file…” Why would it be looking for an existing file? Aren’t I creating a new .cfg file in the export process?
