Hi

I need to set up a view with a specific angle that is not part of the built in drawing views. I have collected the X,Y,Z from the view and need to apply this to views in some other sheets. I cant seem to find a method of doing the correctly.

Can it even be done?

I have collected-

X = Camera Eye is -201.032234998066

Y = Camera Eye is 50.253089081293

Z = Camera Eye is 165.624783149843

I need to look like this

any help greatly appreciated

Hello Nacho,

not shure, but maybe this link will help:  http://adndevblog.typepad.com/manufacturing/2014/11/rotate-drawing-view-around-x-axis-of-sheet.html

it is about rotating, but the it think you need the same...

can't you copy the complete camera instead of only using the eye.

I think you need more than just the eye to setup the view correctly

Hi

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't aware that I could copy the complete camera. If that is an option, how would I go about doing that?

Thanks

Nacho

Hello Nacho

it was meerly a question. I can't find a copy methode on the camera.

but there is one for the "eye", the "target" and the "up vector" these position the camera.

one question is if the target is the same in the other sheet? probably not, so it you can get the new target, I think you calculate the new eye.

the up vector should be the same.

I'm not sure what you need for zooming

this links explane the camera:
