Custom description of synchronous belts

What I'm trying to do is create custom part numbers/descriptions for the belts in the design accelerator. I want them to be linked to the length, so as the length changes the part number & description change. I've searched the forums but all I've found is this..

Which I haven't been able to get working. Is this possible?

I'm not familiar with the Design Accelerator, but it sounds like you're looking for an iPart. iParts allow you to have a table where each row correlates to a different version of you're part and columns are defining parameters for the part. You can include any parameters, like a User Parameter for Length and Design Properties like Part Number. And switching between them is easy,

Take a look here and see if this is what you need

Thank you for the response. I am very familiar with iParts but that's not what I'm after here. Take a look at the power transmission section under the design tab in an assembly environment. There's a number of neat tools there. The one I'm referring to is the Synchronous Belt generator. Works great but I want to customize the canned descriptions of the belts (actually I think they're currently blank). And I would like it to reference the length automatically. I'm sure it possible.. I just haven't been able to crack the code yet.

Ah ok. I usually try to give the simplest answer first.

I don't think I can help you with this, but I found a blog post that describes adding your own belts to the designer, so maybe that can lead you in the right direction
