Content Center Part Number Change

Hi All,

Here's the problem. We have just updated our content center parts and have now discovered that the "Manufacturer's Part Number" has changed, there are literally thousands of parts and i'm looking for a way to access content centre and automatically change this number thru API/VB.net

The Parts are all from the same manufacturer (George Fischer) and all have the same wrong component i.e. should not have the dash in them. (see screen shot)

Has anyone done anything like this before or can point me in the right direction?
