In the process of experimenting with the Inventor 2008 APIs to attempt to extrace beam centerline data in order to eventually feed to ANSIS, I have the following senerio.
Generated a 3d frame 10 inches by 10 inches using frame generator. Set the orgin to 0,0,0.
Using GetCoordinateSystem I would expect some of the beams to have 0,0 orgins. Also, the units of our frame is in inches. It seems (not positive) the GetCoordinateSystem values are metric.
We think our problem is not understanding what each point is relative to as opposed to us assuming they would be relative to the 0,0,0 orgin of the frame.
Ive attached a text file contaning the corrdinate values extracted using the API.
