Check in and delete all files from workspace.

Hi all

Maybe I am asking too much here but I am struggling to find the right workflow to keep my workspace clean. I end up with tons of files just by opening old assemblies to check something. So I was thinking about a Ilogic rule to open check in and delete all cad files at the end of the date.

Is it possible? (Inventor and Vault professional 2020)

Possible, yes.

But I would recommend instead using a search in your vault. Search using the rule checked out by <your username>. Filter by date and simply check-in the files while having the Delete working copies option selected.

Yes I know... but I don't know why I end up with so many files with green icon and impossible to check in from vault.

Also (surely I'm doing something wrong) many files "not in vault". I thought Vault was supposed to ask you every time you close a file if you want to check in, but is not. I think when you open a step file and save and close it, it is not asking. Also when you close the drawing.

My understanding is that the vault modifies files to trace where it is used. In reality the file was not modified by a user.

The vault will not offer you to check in a file which is not vaulted yet. This is why your imports and drawing doesn't prompt to check in.
