Calculating Kfactor - What worked for you?

I looked through several of the threads here on how to figure the Kfactor and all seem to vary slightly. I took the sheet metal class at AU2005 and have the handout that details exactly how to calculate this value, seems very simple. Working the formula's I keep coming up with negative numbers and Inventor only accepts positive numbers. Googling led me to a few links and I've found that each site appears to calculate a little differently. One of the more impressive spreadsheets I've found is by TEDCF but appears to have errors as it also produces negative numbers in some categories, though not as nearly as many as I do with my formula's. In one sample I ran there was a change in Kfactor of .2 ul for a material thickness difference of .005 (checked it 3 times) which screams error to me.

Now that this software has been out a while, has anyone developed a good spreadsheet or formula you're willing to share that has proven to work reliably for you?

When we started unfolding sheet metal with IV we used the methods described in "Bendworks" to reverse engineer the k-factor from some test samples of different materials and thicknesses. We used the resulting k-factors in IV without problem.

I am also looking into trying the Bend Tables, my handout tells me there is a sample bend table in the samples directory but I can't locate one. Anyone have a 2008 version of a bend table they are willing to upload? I don't necessarily need your formulas, I mainly need to know format.

Nevermind, the file locations have apparently been moved to a different folder than my handout, now located in the Design Data folder instead of the Sample folder. Message was edited by: llorden
