I would  suggest to back up the library files daily or in between major changes for this very reasons. Somtimes the table can be corrupted if changes are made on mass. So unless you know how to back track the changes you could have permanent corruption.

If files are stored on a shared drive or server this could be happening allready. Where do you store your inventor files?

See link on backup windows folders.

Simply copying the folder and renaming could be enough. Test with a small library to ensure no corruption. Do not rename the library .idcl files manually in windows. This will cause chaos as the family will become broken.

You can rename the idcl file.

Don't add it to Project.

IV use library name in the idcl.  So it'll see same library and complain.

Rename it back before using it.
