AUTOMATE HANDLE CUTOUT

I am trying to automate one of our repetitive functions. It requires cutting out a rectangular shape, adding flanges, adding radius corners, and a final set of cutouts.

I am trying to determine the best inventor option to make this happen.

Can you please demonstrate the tasks with the help of video recordings or screen shots? It will help us to handle automate cut out.

Thank you for taking the time to help me with my problem. I have attached a word document showing how we make the handle cutouts now. I have also attached an example of the cutouts in a flat piece. We are using Autodesk Inventor 2016.

Handle cut out automation can also be achieved through creation and insertion of iFeature. To demonstrate iFeature, there are many you tube videos. 2 videos are listed below.

Thank you for the information & example. I have worked with IFeatures before & know there are limitations to using it.

I am more interested in how to best create the whole handle cutout, specifically the flanges. I do not know of a way to do it with IFeatures. I would appreciate help in this area, or if not possible the best way to create it quickly. I am trying to standardize this process.

I'd like to take a crack at this. How do you determine where the first cutout goes?

We would like to locate the first cutout from the center of the rectangle. The location on the door itself can vary per cabinet.

Is it possible to specify limitations with iFeature?

Still, I am hoping that iFeature is best solution to automate handle cut out. Inventor API also helps to perform all tasks that are required for automation. But identifying parameters like edge, face in sheet metal are critical things.
