Multithreading

Hi,

Is it possible to optimize the use of multicore processors ?
I invested in a 10 cores processor for thermal simulation with Autodesk CFD and I cry when I have to use Nastran in-cad.
Thank you.

Have you seen the parameter number of cores? I have 8 and in-cad seems to be using them most of the time.

You are able to set this in the model parameters under number of processors using the parameter

This says implemented but I'd have to say, not very well.  It usually only uses 2 cores at best.  Please, multi-core processors are not a new thing.  It's not 1990 anymore!

Now Nastran still uses multi-core only in oabout 30% of solution time... Could do better, really

Are you planning to optimize multiprocessor capabilities for nonlinear analyses? The operations of assembling the stiffness matrix oder contact generation or stress/strain calculations takes long long time in contrast to the solving stage itsself per iteration/increment..
