The 'no averaging' elemental contour options for properties, materials, angle, layer & colour, available in previous In-Cad versions up to version 2016 have been removed in version 2017. Tech support have stated that the functionality for them to work was never fully implemented and have therefore been removed. General 'no averaging' is still available, but the facility for more precise control over where 'no averaging' takes place is desirable for the type of contour plotted. For example, where shell elements connect at a angle boundary, stresses would not be averaged at the interface because of the dissimilar stress directions. This would be activated by setting the 'angle' field to the desired angle where 'no averageing' would apply. Similarly, connected elements of different thicknesses would not normally be averaged. Likewise for different materials. These facilities are available in other FEM packages and would bring In-Cad in line with them. Can these be restored with full functionality as soon as possible.
