Using empirical temperature data

Folks, is there any way to input actual measured temperature data on a piece of equipment to work backwards to get a more accurate convection coefficient for future thermal analyses?

Hi @Jonny.Murty,

In theory, it is possible.  Nastran needs nodal temperature results... but you would need to interpolate all your empirical data to all the nodes in the model, even the the internal nodes.

But if you have the data, could you not hand calculate the convection coefficient?

Otherwise, the only thing I can think of is a guess and check until you reach the appropriate value.
