Temperature load from output

Hello,

I put a thermal load from output in a static linear simulation.

The stress result seems to be very unreal. The mesh of the two simulations are different.

I have to use the same mesh for the two kind of simulation (thermal sim. before and static sim. after) ? How can I import the "mesh" from one simulation to another? It could be easy understand the problem if I could see how the thermal load had been applied on the model.,is it possible?

Thank you

Yes, because the thermal load from output are nodal results, the mesh must be the same. To be sure that the mesh is the same, copy the thermal analysis and use the copy as base for the static analysis.

You can find a good example in the tutorials of the online help:

From the chapter "Linear Static (Thermal Stress) Analysis":

Thanks Michael for the answer.

I thought the thermal load had been interpolated from the x y z coordinates (like ANSYS for example) and not related to the ID node. I hope the Autodesk developers will change this kind of applying load soon... :):) because the mesh on thermal simulation could be less refine than static simulation and sometimes it could be better to have different meshes.

Thanks a lot
