RAM data recycling after mesh update

Hello,

I am using Nastran In CAD together with Autodesk Inventor and I have an issue with RAM increase after each mesh update.

It seems that the previous data is not recycled after each mesh update, taking more and more memory space taken.

Is there any way to turn on data recycling, or is related to Inventor addins?

Hi reinis.selga,

Which version of Nastran In-CAD are you using? We had an issue with Nastran In-CAD 2016.0 where the mesh was consuming an excessive amount of memory. We've addressed this problem in Nastran In-CAD 2016 SAP (2016.1), which is an update available only to customer on subscription. You will need to regenerate the mesh once you load this version, but afterwards the problem of large file size and high memory consumption should be resolved.

Regards,

Andrew

I am using Nastran in CAD 2016 with students licence. So this issue is resolved with customers licence?

Hi Reinis.Selga,

The SAP release is only available to customers on subscription. Enhancements made during a Subscription Advantage Pack will typically be incorporated into the following years full release, in this case Nastran In-CAD 2017.

Andrew
