Materials for Bolt Connectors

Guys,

In the handbook it says:

"Materials: This is a drop-down list with the available materials created."

When assigning a bolt this option is not available:

Bolt Material.JPG

We can only assign user defined material parameters. Is that correct or is there another way of accessing the material data base?

Regards

Ron

Hi Ron,

I think it means that you can only assign materials to the bolts that are in the model. If the model only contains one material, then the drop-down list may not be enabled. (Or if the drop-down does expand, it only lists the one item.)

What you want to do is this:

  1. Expand the "Model" branch of the browser.
  2. Right-click on "Materials > New".
  3. Choose a material you want to have available.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each material you want.
  5. Edit or create a bolt. The Materials drop-down will list all of the materials that are added to the model.
