Filter Von Mises stress results

Hello,

For a static linear analysis in Inventor NASTRAN, I need a way to find the maximum Von Mises stress if the results from the top 1% of elements is disregarded.

In Solidworks Simulation, this is done using the Iso- clipping tool. This lets you choose a threshold to filter elements over or under any specific stress value and shows the percentage of elements that fit the specified range. As far as I can tell, NASTRAN does not have a graphical tool to filter elements based on stress value. The next option would be to sort raw data to calculate what percentage of elements are over a certain stress range. I tried to do this by creating an XY plot and copying the data. If I create a group with all of the elements selected and try to create an XY plot it does not load anything. I think this is because  I am working on a somewhat large analysis (614,850 elements).

Is there actually an "iso-clipping" or filtering tool that I am unaware of? Are there any other methods to get to the tabulated stress data? Are there any suggestions on how to get the XY plot to load when every element is selected?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Export the nodal or elemental data to an excel file with the FNO tool and run a macro.

Thanks Darrenlovesmusic, I am able to get the data I need using the FNO Reader. It is a shame that a 3rd party program is needed to do a relatively simple task, but at least there is a solution.
