Does Inventor 2021 Nastran In Cad have updated archive capabilities? We have tried to archive the FEA files in the past and do not have any luck getting the files back with results attached. We always have to rerun the analysis. We have created a separate Vault for our simulations, and use this to get the Inventor files that have been specifically prepped for the FEA saved. For large FEA's it is quite time consuming to rerun the analysis.

Hi @tomsum

I do not use Vault. Hopefully, one of the readers that also use Vault (which includes you 😊) can confirm if this is accurate or not.

  1. Create a Vault package in the Nastran environment. Right-click on the analysis name in the Nastran model tree and choose "Create Updated Vault Package". This compresses the InCAD\FEA folder and adds a node to the top of the Inventor model tree named "3rd Party > modelname.pkg".
  2. The package file is checked into Vault when the Inventor file is checked in.
  3. When the Inventor file is checked out, the package with the Nastran results will be loaded onto the computer and unzipped.
  4. As with any Nastran analysis, right-click on "Results > Load Results" in the Nastran environment's model tree to view the existing results.

Integration with Vault was added in Inventor Nastran 2020.
