We recently took a Class on "Cable and Harness" but came across a section where we want to add a MATERIAL to a custom Wire Size and Loom Size. Right now I currently use Autocadd 3D to draw 3D cable and I take the Mass from cad and pull that into Excel which then tells me my Length of Cable, Weight of Cable(from its density), and Weight of Paper with the formulas I have created. In inventor it will tell me the Length of my "WIRE" but since It does not have any I-properties there is not way to give the "WIRES" a density to then determine the Weight of my cables. I know I can do the hand calculation on my own but it would be nice to pull of this info in 1 Report from Inventor. i thought it was great to be able to draw my WIRE and LOOM( I am using the LOOM as my Paper Insulation around the Wires) seperate to then be able to pull that information into a Report but thats not possible without having any I-properties / Materials assigned to these. So can we please add this to a future Update.
