Streamline deriving parameters between assemblies, parts and sketches.

Linking parameters between assemblies, parts and sketches can be improved. Currently when linking parameters you need to open the parameter list, select link, add the desired file name, go find the parameter, select ok and only then you can link a dimension to a parameter. I propose that all of this can happen in the background. New workflow, edit dimension and then select dimension in other part. At this point the parameter gets added to the parameter list.

Great idea! Being able to map dimensions (or any input driven field) to variables in another opened part by just selecting the target variable would be amazing. Definitely save the hassle of linking parts using the existing method.

I like the idea but is seems like it would be hard to implement because you have to have dimension input thing open and switch to another open part and access the sketch to get to the dimension to get to the parameter. How about if it worked like the following.

In creating a sketch dimension you click the arrow to expand and there is an option added for "From part". Then once you select that it does the normal select file to open then shows the parameters dialogue to chose the one to use in the dimension. Or it could let you select from a currently open files to temporarily switch to and select a dimension to derive the parameter from.
