Sketch Driven Pattern

Sketch Driven Pattern

Make it possible to Create a Sketch with points and use this Sketch/points to create a Pattern of Features/Solids.

And make it possible to reuse this Pattern on assembly level for Pattern and Content Center parts Placement.

Fantastic!

Will this be implemented at the assembly level as well? Some component patterns at the assembly level are completely self-standing and don't relate to any existing feature pattern, so it would be great to be able to create a sketch at the Assembly level and pattern components based on that sketch.

It would be great if Inventor started to catch up with other CAD packages.  Solidworks has had this feature for at least the last 3 releases.

Hi all

thanks you for sketchdriven pattern in Inventor 2017.

I tested inventor 2017

I have a problem with pattern in assembly. I did frame structure. I did hole with function pattern. I put the assembly frame structure into the next assembly. I put the screw and then I wanted to use the pattern assembly of the frame structure for screw it did not work.

next problem

for pattern Rectangular and Circular Demote and Promote screw loses Constrain

other problem Bill of materials Please when will it be ? It could be set up through the registers?

Hi nausd,

I don't quite understand your problem about sketch driven pattern. Are you trying to use Pattern Component command to pattern a screw by selecting the sketch driven pattern? Would you please upload a snapshot or model for more information?

Sketch-driven patterns automatically use all center points in their base sketch, which is great if the sketch is dedicated exclusively to the single sketch-driven pattern, but can cause issues if there are extra center points or if you want to define multiple patterns in a single maser sketch (especially common in skeletal/top-down/multi-body modeling).

I created an idea proposing one possible solution to this issue: Sketch-Driven Pattern: Select points to INCLUDE rather than points to EXCLUDE.

If you think this would be useful, please consider giving it a vote. Thank you.
