Same position number in different model states

Same position number in different model states

I´d like to have the chance to show the same position number in different model states.

We often have IDWs with several views, an each one has a different model state.

Until now, position numbers are reassigned in every model state.

This is not easy to understand for our manufacturing companies.

We only want one parts list and the same position numbers in every model state.

One way to make that happen could be to choose the source for my position numbers in this dialog box, which appears when I start to assign the numbers. The different model states could be listed here. In this example, it´s <Platten> and unfortunately that cannot be changed.

This would be very helpful for our workflow in interior construction.

I just found a solution. In the structured view of the parts list of in assembly, I can do a preset that does exactly what I want. Well hidden as usual, Inventor ! I think my request would be easier...

My comment was hasty. The Workaround doesn´t work like I want it.

So my suggestion remains: Make it possible!

One parts list, and every position number in every model state view refers to the position number of the primary model state.

The functionality works fine. However, the setting is file specific. You should set it in your template. And of course, for each existing assembly as well.
