Prehighlight in section views

Prehighlight in section views

Please fix the pre-highlight feature so that it doesn't highlight the entire component (visible and otherwise).

This largely defeats the purpose of using the half section views in assemblies.

Basically, anytime I need to edit parts in context that are on the inside of a box or box like assembly, I would cut it away to work on the inside of said box. However, as soon as my cursor passes over the inside skin, the entire box is highlighted, completely obscuring my ability to work.

On the left is what I'm stuck trying to work through, on the right is what I'd like to be able to work with.

While I'm at it, there's a laundry list of options buried in application options and document settings that I'd love to be able to toggle without opening a menu. (units for one. the ability to globally set the measure tool to dual units would be a large help)

"This largely defeats the purpose of using the half section views in assemblies." - Common sense has no place in Inventor. How about selecting the part and then it is highlighted only on visible portion of it. Common sense tells me that non-visible portion of selected component should be made visible with at least dashed lines.

Anyway, I voted for this, although it might be available in 2036 version of Inventor ...
