Overlay View in Section View

The topic says it all, really. I would really like the ability to create an Overlay View in a Section View. There are many times this have been missed.

It has somewhat been solved by placing an additional Base View with the other positional representation, and make a new Section View on that one in the same location. But it would have been so much easier to just make an Overlay View instead, but it's not availale.

I'm looking forward to the time when free programs will overtake paid software. Because of the inability of paid software to provide good functionality.

and still not a feature in 2024, really does limit the critical information that can be provided.

Best solution that I've found is to crate all the views separately, Section from base with the position applied, copy the views into Autocad to align them correctly and adjust any hatching, then copy the whole thing back into the drawing as a sketch.

We have again the case where we want to use an "overlay view" in a "section view" or "crop view". These ideas have been around since 2013 in the Idea Station, which even got the status "accepted" in 2015.

Now, ten years later, this feature is still not available, which is annoying.
