When creating an assembly from a mutli body part (Solid Bodies,Make Components), all resulting parts inherit the origin of the partent part.
For now I use the Move Bodies feature to rotate and translate the part to the desired origin. For example, the rotation axis of a part lies on the Z axis.
It would be great if the Move Bodies feature has the option to select an UCS as translation and rotation.
The workflow would be as follows:
- Assuming we have a part open, which we derived from a multi boide part as described above
- Place the UCS on the part (in the case of an rotated part on the rotation axis)
- Open the Move Bodies feature
- Select the UCS as reference (my suggestion)
From my understanding, the translation and rotation (what the Move Bodies already supports) could be calculated from the UCS matix and the part origin matrix.
I would highly appreciate if this feature would be implemented.
