Inventor View Computer process priority

Inventor View Computer process priority

when working on detailing an Inventor drawing (Inventor 2018) i find that the views can take a long time to generate.

i noticed in this version of inventor that the process called "inventor view compute" always comes in at "below normal" priority

on large assemblies/drawings this is very frustrating.

i don't remember previous inventor versions doing this  (2016 etc.)  so why did it change? can this come in at least at normal priority...but i wouldn't be apposed to above normal either.

That process has always been set to lower than normal since it's meant to be a background process so that you can continue to do other things in Inventor while the process(es) run. Nothing has changed recently for the priority.

From your screenshot it seems that you're running out of memory (98% usage) - that will have a greater impact on performance than the priority of the process.

How much improvement do you see if you only run a single session of Inventor at once ?
