Do you catch that since Inventor 2020 there is a Inventor Read Only Mode, so without License you can open native Inventor files and got all functionality but no possibilty to do a Save.
The Read Only version is a band-aid, not a solution. A simplistic inspection/viewer is needed for those untrained in Inventor but need access to the resulting files. Production teams, CNC, Vendors, etc are getting overwhelmed with the amount of features of Inventor and just don't use it or are constantly requesting support on how to use it. We want them to be able to collect their own information without taking up the resources of the drafting department. Adobe's 3D viewer comes pretty close, but has terrible view controls and difficult measure tools. Inventor View has great view controls, a simpler interface, but no measure tools.
