Having layers inside sketch environment

To be able to use layers inside Inventor sketch, to turn the visibility of different outlines on and off.

It is a time-save to have more complete sketch instead of creating multiple simple sketches, as you have to place your references over inside each new sketch. If you attempt to have a too complex sketch now, picking profiles becomes retarded, rendering that sketch useless.

This issue becomes particularly apparent when working on multi-solid bodies.

Anybody else noticed this?

@robert_szykowski, even though your Idea is the original, there's a duplicate which has received a little more support at this point in time (15 votes at the moment). As such, I'd recommend casting a vote for that Idea as well. You can do so here:  Sketch layers

I like the comments you made, though. I think they're great points. It definitely does save time to have a single complete sketch rather than several small sketches with lots of projected geometry. But, like you said, having a complex sketch now can make profile selection a real pain as Inventor starts to not recognize profiles even when they truly are closed. Being able to assign certain closed profiles to a layer would be a perfect remedy for this.
