Flip command on mate axis

Flip command on mate axis

When mating an axis from one part to another it often mates the wrong way you than have to cancel out rotate the part the remate it. This very time consuming and requires a lot of clicking. All you need is a flip option. 7.JPG

Agree with DRoam: I  would have plenty of situations where the opposing/aligned/undirected coherency for axes would turn out to be very convenient

(Sorry, my connection is too slow to test on the beta right now, I will give it a try soon)

Status changed to: Implemented

This idea has been implemented within Autodesk Inventor 2019. Special thanks to everyone who cast a vote for it.  Additional options (Opposed, Aligned and Undirected) are now available when placing Mate constraints on axis.

Hey this is a great idea and glad to see it implemented.

But it is very frustrating to have extra clicks now on axes constraints that I don't need it.

Please implement a way to default to un-directed.

I agree with Andrew. This would be an excellent addition, but please let us set the default or at least save the previous selection. We usually have other constraints to resolve the axis ambiguity. While this is useful on the rare occasion we don't, it's outweighed by the frustration we deal with in repeatedly having to select un-directed, or having guessed wrong as to which direction we needed when it conflicts with a pre-existing constraint. It sounded like a great idea when I first read about it, but the way it has been implemented has me wishing it was never added.
